On April 16, Li Chunliang, Vice Chairman of the Pingdu Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), along with a delegation, visited the Pingdu Sino-Dutch Modern Horticulture Center for an inspection and research visit. Accompanied on the visit were Xu Xigen, Mayor of Guxian Town, Li Jianwei, Chairman of Qingdao Gupu International Modern Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., and An Cunjun, General Manager of Qingdao Gupu Ecological Horticulture Science and Technology Co., Ltd.
This study aims to investigate key proposals concerning rural tourism. Within the park, Li Chunliang inquired about the construction, planting management, operation, and cultural tourism achievements of the Qingdao Tulip Project. He also engaged in in-depth discussions with relevant personnel on issues such as planting techniques, market marketing, and industry prospects.
An Cunjun explained that the park covers an area of 350 acres and is home to 52 different varieties of tulips. The "Tulip Festival" held this time runs from April 13th to April 22nd, attracting over a thousand visitors every day, which has enhanced the fame of Guxian Town. Tulips not only have high ornamental value but also are in great demand in the cut flower, bulb, and home gardening markets, injecting new vitality into the local economy. This year, with the government's attention and support, the Qingdao Tulip Project was successfully selected as a key project in Qingdao's service industry. Going forward, we will continue to leverage the demonstrative effect of key projects, explore agricultural development models suitable for Pingdu, and further support rural revitalization.
Li Chunliang highly praised the Qingdao Tulip Project. He pointed out that developing rural tourism is a crucial pivot for achieving strong agriculture, beautiful countryside, and wealthy farmers. By leveraging the unique resource of tulips, efforts should be made to explore a development model that integrates production, processing, and sales, as well as amalgamating agriculture, culture, and tourism. At the same time, it's important to adapt to local conditions in developing new industries and business forms such as rural tourism and leisure agriculture, strengthen local brand building, expand the scale of development, and allow farmers to share more of the benefits from industry value-added.
